1. Data Controller

The data controller responsible for the processing of personal data on the Artificial Intelligence Lab website is Maximilien Grzeczka. For any inquiries regarding your personal data or to exercise your rights, you may contact the publisher at: mini@ledret.ch.

2. Personal Data Collected and Purposes

We process personal data only when necessary, for specific purposes, and in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR - Regulation (EU) 2016/679). The following data is processed:

  • Newsletter Subscription (Email): When you register to receive updates, we collect your email address. This data is strictly used to send you release notes, developer updates, and technical announcements related to Aura SDK, Aura Compiler, and Aura Models.
  • Connection and Technical Data: Cloudflare collects metadata related to requests (IP address, browser type, operating system, timestamp) to prevent security threats, detect bot activity, and ensure website stability.
  • Privacy-Focused Analytics: We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-first, cookie-less web analytics service. It does not track users across websites or compile profiles, and only records aggregated usage data.

3. Legal Basis for Processing

The processing of personal data is justified under the following legal bases:

  • Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR): For the newsletter subscription. You provide explicit, active consent by submitting your email and checking the subscription opt-in box.
  • Legitimate Interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR): For connection logs and security audits managed by our hosting provider to ensure network security and prevent malicious activities.

4. Data Storage, Retention, and Region

Your personal data is treated with high security standards:

  • Newsletter Emails: Stored securely in a MongoDB Atlas database cluster hosted within the European Union (Paris Region, AWS eu-west-3).
  • Retention Period: We retain your email address as long as your subscription is active. If you unsubscribe, your email is immediately marked as inactive and is permanently deleted from our mailing databases within 30 days.
  • Security Logs: Connection logs processed by Cloudflare are stored for a maximum of 30 days before automatic deletion or anonymization.

5. Data Recipients and Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or transfer your personal data to unauthorized third parties. Personal data is shared only with trusted processors acting under strict contractual terms:

  • MongoDB, Inc. (MongoDB Atlas): Database infrastructure provider hosting the newsletter subscriber list within the EU.
  • Cloudflare, Inc.: Hosting, Content Delivery Network (CDN), and security provider.

6. International Data Transfers

Cloudflare may route network traffic and log data globally, including to the United States. To ensure an adequate level of data protection, Cloudflare operates under Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission, combined with strict technical and organizational safeguards.

7. Your GDPR Rights

Pursuant to the GDPR, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right of Access (Art. 15): The right to obtain confirmation as to whether or not your personal data is being processed, and to receive a copy of it.
  • Right to Rectification (Art. 16): The right to request the correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
  • Right to Erasure / "Right to be Forgotten" (Art. 17): The right to request the deletion of your personal data when it is no longer necessary for the purposes for which it was collected.
  • Right to Restriction of Processing (Art. 18): The right to limit how we use your data under specific conditions.
  • Right to Data Portability (Art. 20): The right to receive your personal data in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format.
  • Right to Object (Art. 21): The right to object to the processing of your data based on legitimate interests.
  • Right to Withdraw Consent (Art. 7(3)): You can withdraw your consent to the newsletter at any time by clicking the "Unsubscribe" link in the footer of any update email, or by visiting the Unsubscribe page.

We implement industry-standard technical measures (including TLS/HTTPS encryption, strict API access keys, and secure database hosting) to protect personal data from accidental loss, destruction, alteration, or unauthorized access.
